What the UK CAA requires from your logbook

Following Brexit, the UK CAA adopted EASA FCL.050 requirements into UK law under the Air Navigation Order. Digital logbooks are accepted provided they meet these standards.

UK CAA / FCL.050 Requirements

The UK CAA requires pilots to maintain a reliable record of all flights, including date, departure and arrival aerodrome, aircraft type and registration, total flight time, and the nature of the flight (PIC, co-pilot, dual, instructor). The logbook must record time in hours and minutes, and entries must be made in a permanent and indelible manner. For digital logbooks, this means the data must be backed up, retrievable, and exportable in a format suitable for presentation to the CAA.
